DESCRIPTION:Kick off your spring adventures with a fun\, social\, and informative guided bike ride of Uptown’s parks and greenways! \nWe’ll first hear from Gwen Cook\, Planner for Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation\, as she shares the history of the parks and greenways we’ll see — and connections yet to come! \nThen we’ll ride at a leisurely pace and stop along the way to learn more about how Charlotte’s on-street bike infrastructure provides people of all ages and abilities with safe access to parks\, greenways\, public transit\, and their daily destinations. \nWe’ll visit at least four parks and two greenways. Come enjoy the morning with us — and make some new like-minded bike friends as we explore together! \nHere’s where we’ll go! \n \n \nWhen: 10:00am – 12:00pm (2 hours) on Saturday\, April 18 2026 \nWhere: Meet at the fountain in front of Dressler’s directly on Little Sugar Creek Greenway (1133 Metropolitan Ave). Walk\, run\, or bike along a designated route\, collect goodies and raffle tickets at local stops\, and experience how fun and easy it can be to get around Charlotte without a car. \nParticipants are given adventure passports and are welcome to bike\, walk\, or use local transit to navigate the route and visit new destinations\, support local businesses\, see the infrastructure available to support safer riding\, and collect stamps in their passports along the way. Participants are also welcome to dress up!
