New LimeBikes to launch in Charlotte, company says (WCNC)

Charlotte is one of the world’s first cities to launch the new LimeBike, giving folks another option for getting around the Queen City without a car.

Lime says its new bike is their most inclusive vehicle to date, designed for riders who may have difficulty pedaling for extended periods, as well as those looking to replace car trips with a more comfortable bike. Lime tested the new bikes in select cities worldwide in 2024.

“At Sustain Charlotte, we believe that transportation options should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability,” Sustain Charlotte founder Shannon Binns said. “Lime’s rollout of the new Gen LimeBike in Charlotte is a powerful step toward a more inclusive and sustainable city. By making it easier for more people to choose biking, Lime is helping create a healthier, more connected community, and we’re excited to see Charlotte lead the way.”
