We advance this mission by partnering with neighborhood residents, community leaders, government agencies, local and regional officials, academic institutions, businesses, and nonprofits alike, all with the objective of forging solutions through collaboration.
Sustain Charlotte is leading the way to healthier, more equitable, and vibrant neighborhoods across the Charlotte region, with a focus on neighborhoods that have historically experienced under-representation and under-investment in transportation choices, parks, and greenways.
We believe that the best strategy to achieve a sustainable community is through smart growth.
Smart growth is an approach to development that encourages a mix of building types and uses, diverse housing and transportation options, development within existing neighborhoods, and community engagement. This approach supports local economies, protects the environment, and furthers opportunities for all.
Our mission is to make smart growth advocacy easy and accessible to everyone in our community. We do this through education and calls to action. Whenever we see opportunities to inspire choices that lead to more sustainable land use and transportation options, we invite you to use your voice. Our latest areas of focus have been Growing our Parks and Greenways and Building our Bike Network.
