Sustain Charlotte supports grant to build electrified transit, rail, port, and micromobility projects
Sustain Charlotte signed on to support legislation that would authorize the U.S. Department of Transportation $500 billion over ten years through a new grant to build electrified transit, rail, port, and micromobility projects. At least $150 million of these funds would be required to be spent on transit projects alone.
This investment is enough to fund the federal share of every transit project in the Capital Investment Grant pipeline, as well as build transformative new projects like additional rapid transit in the Research Triangle and the expansion and electrification of North Carolina’s passenger network.
Read a one-pager on the legislation. See the Build Green 118th final text.
