Biketoberfest 2024 was a 10 out of 10!
On Sunday, October 27, we celebrated our 10th annual Biketoberfest, presented by City of Charlotte. That's a decade of pedals and progress toward making Charlotte safe and enjoyable for folks to get around without using a car!
Asked how it went, one participant declared "We are new to Charlotte. This was wonderful and helpful!!! Absolutely will bike more places." That's a big measure of success in our books!
Another measure of success: This year's event raised a record $105,000 in support of Sustain Charlotte's mission to create a more equitable, connected, and healthy community by inspiring responsible growth and transportation choices! Big thank you to the 750 folks who came out to ride, walk, scoot and volunteer!
Our full route toured more than a dozen neighborhoods, and the shorter route explored South End and the Rail Trail.
Participants interacted with more than 40 businesses and nonprofits along the route, getting stamps on passports that were later turned into raffle tickets for some great prizes, courtesy of many local businesses.
As usual, Triple C. Brewing Co. served as our official start and stop point and hosted the Biketoberfest packet-pick-up party, sponsored by Albemarle, on Friday evening and the after-party on Sunday afternoon with live music from Nate Randall and a special collaboration beer called the Wheely Hazy, named by one of our social media followers!
