North Carolina City To Get A Different Kind Of Farm (Country 103.7)

The push for greener energy has hit the Carolinas. Those who live in the area have seen farms on the outskirts of their cities.

Very soon a North Carolina city will get a different kind of farm. WCNC says a solar farm is on its way to the Davidson area. The solar farm will help city government buildings be less reliant on fossil fuels.

Sustain Charlotte’s Meg Fencil said, “It will provide the greenhouse gas reduction benefit equivalent to taking about 24,000 cars off the road per year.” 100% zero carbon emissions by 2030 has been the goal of the city of Charlotte.

It looks like this plan brings them to about 19% of that goal. So the city is making progress.
