Queen City Green: Shannon Binns (podcast)

Sustain Charlotte Executive Director Shannon Binns was recently featured on the Queen City Green podcast, a podcast hosted by Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden for the environmentally aware. Shannon’s interview touched on Sustain Charlotte’s origin story, the ways the organization has changed, and recent challenges and wins.

“We want to help more people understand and care about the sustainability challenges we face and how to solve them,” Shannon said. “Our vision is to bring all these people together to speak with one voice to challenge the growth pattern that the region has been experiencing for decades. If we can get the plans for sustainable growth in place and policies to follow those plans and budgets to support the policies, we can actually move in a different direction as a city with better outcomes for how we grow.”
