‘Around The Crown 10K’ kicked off in Uptown in support of sustainability projects (Queen City News)

The ‘Around The Crown 10K’ kicked off Sunday morning in Uptown.

Runners laced up their shoes and took off from the Truist Field down Mint Street before looping back onto I-277. The stretch of highway circling Uptown was closed for the run.

Proceeds from the race go to two local non-profit organizations — Carolina Farm Trust and Sustain Charlotte — who work with sustainability projects around the Queen City.
