Around the Crown 10K organizers strive for sustainability (South Charlotte Weekly)
Around the Crown 10K returns Sept. 1 at Truist Field with three initiatives for 2024 in line with its mission of increasing sustainability. These measures are as follows:
Partnering with Charlotte Area Transit System to give each participant a free two-day, unlimited use, light rail pass for race weekend to get to and from all event locations.
Implementing a group of volunteers who will lead the recycling efforts at the expo and race.
Hosting a free panel discussion at 1 p.m. Aug. 31 at the expo with Charlotte-based experts and business owners who specialize in minimizing environmental impacts.
