Kick off your spring adventures with a fun, social, and informative guided bike ride of Uptown’s parks and greenways!
We’ll first hear from Gwen Cook, Planner for Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, as she shares the history of the parks and greenways we’ll see — and connections yet to come!
Then we’ll ride at a leisurely pace and stop along the way to learn more about how Charlotte’s on-street bike infrastructure provides people of all ages and abilities with safe access to parks, greenways, public transit, and their daily destinations.
We’ll visit at least four parks and two greenways. Come enjoy the morning with us — and make some new like-minded bike friends as we explore together!
Here’s where we’ll go!

When: 10:00am – 12:00pm (2 hours) on Saturday, April 18 2026
Where: Meet at the fountain in front of Dressler’s directly on Little Sugar Creek Greenway (1133 Metropolitan Ave). See images below. Parking is available in the Metropolitan decks and street parking nearby. Carpooling is encouraged. CATS bus route #6 and the LYNX GoldLine streetcar serve the area.

How to prepare: Bring your bike and dress for the weather! Remember a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, and the most important attire — a bike helmet. All participants must sign a liability waiver.
We’ll provide light grab & go snacks and drinks at the start.
