Meet the Intern: Anna Houser
My name is Anna Houser, and I’m a rising senior at the University of Georgia. I am majoring in environmental economics and management.
I decided to intern for Sustain Charlotte because of the dedication they have to making my hometown more sustainable and accessible. I have lived in Charlotte my whole life, and I felt like working at home for Sustain Charlotte would be a rewarding experience, especially during the pandemic. I am extremely passionate about everything related to sustainability, and I chose to intern for Sustain Charlotte because I wanted to learn more about public transportation options, how the Charlotte community aims to improve those services, and especially how it makes Charlotte more sustainable as a whole.
Through my internship, I was able to accomplish many projects and tasks that allowed me to learn and grow. First, I worked closely with the Marketing and Events Manager, Sarah Ann Schultz, in order to complete a social media analytics project. This project involved going through months of previous posts on various social media platforms and analyze the data to improve Sustain Charlotte’s social media content. Second, I also worked closely with the Operations Manager, Jessica Freely, and the Development Associate, Mary Catherine Freeman, to work on the merge from Nation builder to Neon. Overall, working for Sustain Charlotte was a great experience, and I am excited to see what great things they will accomplish in the future!
