Roll Bus Roll (WFAE)
Today’s newsletter subject line pays homage to my favorite song by singer Jeffrey Lewis. Although, he’s singing more about the romance of the road; that feeling you get when you ride a Greyhound across the country with nothing but a couple bucks, a rolled-up sweatshirt for a pillow and a song. Meanwhile, we’re talking about something a little less sexy… your daily commute.
A couple weekends ago, Sustain Charlotte organized an educational bus ride. Basically, volunteers showed folks how to use the CATS app and buy a ticket, then we rode to the Uptown Farmers Market. The educational ride happened just over a week before the city council was due to vote on a new one-cent sales tax to raise money for transportation infrastructure.
